1. Who can attend the Pacific Veterinary Conference?

All veterinary professionals

2. How many people usually attend the annual Pacific Veterinary Conference?

Approximately 1500 veterinary professionals attend the Pacific Veterinary Conference.

3. Is the conference at the hotel?

Yes – all sessions and the Vet Expo will take place at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square.

4. How do I know where to go?

Directional signs will be posted around the hotel or you may ask Pacific Veterinary Conference or hotel staff.

5. Is parking available?

Yes - you may pay to park in the hotel’s on-site garage. See Hotel & Travel for more information.

6. Are there options for day care?

Yes - guests may contact the hotel’s concierge desk for assistance in finding licensed day care providers in the area.

7. What are the future conference dates?

10. Do you coordinate room share options for attendees staying at the conference hotel?

We do not coordinate room shares, but if you ‘like’ our facebook page, you can inquire on our wall about room share opportunities and interact with fellow attendees

Registration

11. What are the Conference registration fees?

12. How can I register for the Conference?

13. Are meals included in the registration?

Yes –at least 12 food events.
Full conference registrants, daily registrants and guests that have purchased meal tickets will receive:

  • Four (4) continental breakfasts
  • Hosted breaks
  • Two (2) lunches provided in the Exhibit Hall on Friday and Saturday
  • Evening receptions

 

14. Are the lecture notes included in the registration fee?

Yes, registered attendees will have online access before, during, and after the conference. 
Attendees will also receive lecture notes on flash drive during check-in at the Pacific Veterinary Conference registration desk.

16. How do I use “My Conference”?

Registered attendees - this is your personal Pacific Veterinary Conference home page. “My Conference” allows you to manage your conference account from your attendee dashboard by building your CE schedule, viewing your invoice history, and much more.

Continuing Education Credits

17. How many CE hours are offered?

The conference will offer over 230 hours of CE

  • Veterinarians can earn up to 33 hours of CE
  • Technicians can take advantage of 28.5 hours of technician-specific CE

18. Are Pacific Veterinary Conference CE hours RACE approved?

California

  • The California Veterinary Medical Association, the sponsor of the Pacific Veterinary Conference, is a statutorily approved CE provider in California.
  • CE earned at Pacific Veterinary Conference will be accepted by the California Veterinary Medical Board toward the mandatory 36 hours required every two years for re-licensure.
  • Most states will accept CVMA-sponsored CE.

Texas

  • To receive credit for your CE at Pacific Veterinary Conference, you must follow proper procedures per the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (TBVME). 
  • Pick up a checklist at the registration desk and sign in. 
  • Track your CE hours on the checklist and turn that in before you leave the conference.
  • A Pacific Veterinary Conference staff member must verify your hours and give you a certificate of attendance/completion.  (Per the TBVME these certificates cannot be mailed or given out after the conference.)

All other states

  • Contact your local Veterinary Medical Board or licensing agency to determine what CE at Pacific Veterinary Conference qualifies in your state.
  • Contact Pacific Veterinary Conference staff prior to the conference with any questions or special requirements 800.655.2862.

 

19. Do I sign up for each session I want to attend?

Sessions are open to all registered attendees.  Hands-on Laboratories, Sunrise Breakfasts and some Workshops require an additional registration and fee. (Guests may not attend sessions).

20. How do I keep track of sessions I attend so I can submit my CE to my state regulator?

A CE Certificate will be provided to you onsite for recording your sessions.  Please keep this for your records.  (Texas – special forms will be provided).

21. Is there Technician CE?

Pacific Veterinary Conference provides 28.5 hours of technician-specific CE.
